Yes — the promise of Christ’s return is one of the most repeated teachings in Scripture, and it’s stated as a certainty, not a hope. Jesus told His disciples plainly, “I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:3). At His ascension, two angels told the watching disciples, “This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11) — a visible, personal, bodily return, not a metaphor or a spiritual “coming” into someone’s heart. Paul called it “that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13), and the very last chapter of the Bible ends with Jesus saying three times, “Surely I come quickly” (Revelation 22:7, 12, 20). The word “soon” reflects both the shortness of time compared to eternity and the sense, growing stronger as history unfolds, that the signs Jesus gave are converging in our generation.
