Yes, Jesus kept the Sabbath, and consistently so. Luke’s Gospel says it was “his custom” to go to the synagogue on the Sabbath day (Luke 4:16), meaning this wasn’t occasional, it was His regular pattern throughout His ministry. The day in question was the seventh day, Saturday, the same Sabbath established at creation and observed throughout the Old Testament. Jesus never introduced a different day or suggested the day itself had changed. What He did challenge was the legalistic, burdensome way religious leaders had added extra rules on top of it.
